Prophetic Dream: Birthing An Isaac or An Ichabod
On February 21st, I received a dream from the Lord where I was watching several builders begin a project. Amongst the skillful builders moving with purpose and determination, there were others who were called as builders as well, but had stepped aside in the weariness of their journey and were being comforted by familiarities of the past. As a woman in their midst began going into labor, the scene changed to a hospital room and I watched as a baby that did not belong to her was placed in her arms. Taken back, I suddenly understood in that moment that a snare had been set by the enemy. It was those familiar things once left behind with the bondage of Egypt that had resurfaced at an integral time of building and birthing, and while comfort is what they claimed to offer, derailment of promise is what they purposed.
I woke up from the dream deeply grieved and saddened as the Lord began speaking to me about this appointed time of building and birthing in the earth. While many are feeling exhausted and weary from their journey through the wilderness, I believe God is desiring to strengthen and protect His emerging builders with 3 points that He revealed through the dream.
1. The Battle Against Consecration
The wilderness journey over the last several years has been about consecrating and setting the new-era builders apart. The preparation has been long and much has been required leaving many feeling the depths and cost of the season. I believe the Lord is reminding us of an age-old tactic that the enemy often uses when he sees a window of vulnerability. It was the same tactic used when the Israelites grew weary in their exodus- the reminder of past comforts.
In this season, God is desiring to make Himself known as the sustainer and fulfiller of His builders’ needs rather than have them look in the rear view mirror - not only for the true comfort that He can provide, but for their consecration that He longs to protect.
2. The War Over Isaac and Ichabod
The Lord began sharing with me that the laboring woman in the dream represented the birthing builders and how in this season that the war would be over birthing Isaac or birthing Ichabod.
Isaac serves as a representation of God’s promise and word fulfilled, while Ichabod, in Hebrew means “there is no glory”.
Ichabod’s name was the direct result of a priestly line filled with great compromise and a pursuit of sinful comforts (1 Sam. 2:29). Through this, I believe God is revealing not only the ‘what’ but also the ‘why’ behind the enemy’s plan in this season: providing false comfort to disrupt great glory.
Yet it will be as the emerging builders remain faithful to steward the narrow way before them in light of the distractions around them, that Isaiah 58:8 will mark the coming months: “Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard”.
Builders, the hour of birthing has arrived and though the enemy has schemed in hopes of placing a false and inglorious version of the promise in your arms, I hear the Lord decreeing today, “That doesn’t belong to you. Isaac is coming!”
3. The Call To Guard and Protect
I sense so strongly the need for the new-era builders to remain on guard in this season and to vigilantly protect what they’ve been called to birth and to build. In the dream I saw three areas specially that had resurfaced from Egypt that the enemy was using to try to gain access and proximity. These were: private settings, group text messages and relationships.
There is a necessary highlighting by the Lord right now to fully release everything that once was for the promise of what is to come. For in this imperative hour an inch in the natural will be as though a mile in the Spirit.
Watch as God brings divine acceleration as you lean into Him and deny influence to all that hinders His great Kingdom work.
Guard, protect, trust and lean.
Build on, builders! Great glory awaits.
